1. Introduction and Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how Industrial Growth Hub ("IGH", "we", "us", "our"), registration number 2024/338400/07, a Level 1 B-BBEE Contributor based in Cape Town, South Africa, collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you visit industrialgrowthhub.com (the "Site"), submit a form, subscribe to our newsletter, use our Industrial Growth Strategy Generator tool, or engage us for Services.
This Policy is issued in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 ("POPIA"). Where you access the Site from the European Union or United Kingdom, we also apply the relevant principles of the General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR") as set out in Section 11.
2. Responsible Party and Information Officer
IGH is the "Responsible Party" (POPIA) / "Data Controller" (GDPR) for personal information collected via the Site.

3. Personal Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of personal information:
- Contact form submissions: full name, email address, and the content of your message.
- Newsletter subscriptions: email address.
- Industrial Growth Strategy Generator tool: company size, business details, industry, and any other information you choose to enter into the tool.
- Strategy audit / consultation bookings: name, email, phone number, and details of your business and project.
- Automatically collected data: IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and referral source, collected via cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 6).
- Client engagement data: where you become a Client, billing details, project communications, and any information provided under a signed SOW.
We do not knowingly collect special personal information (as defined by POPIA, e.g. health, religious or political beliefs, criminal behaviour) or financial account/payment card details via the Site; where payment is required, this is processed by a third-party payment provider under its own privacy terms.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use personal information to: respond to enquiries and provide requested information; deliver, manage, and invoice for Services; operate the Industrial Growth Strategy Generator and generate the output you request; send newsletters and marketing communications (where you have consented or as otherwise permitted by law, with an opt-out in every communication); improve and secure the Site; and comply with our legal, tax, and regulatory obligations.
5. Lawful Basis for Processing
Under POPIA, we process personal information on one or more of the following bases: your consent (e.g. newsletter sign-up, use of the Strategy Generator); performance of a contract with you (e.g. delivering Services you've engaged us for); compliance with a legal obligation (e.g. tax and accounting records); and our legitimate interests, such as responding to enquiries, maintaining Site security, and direct marketing to existing clients about similar services, provided this does not unreasonably prejudice your rights.
6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
The Site uses cookies and similar technologies for essential site functionality, analytics (to understand how visitors use the Site), and, where applicable, marketing/retargeting. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings; disabling certain cookies may affect Site functionality. A detailed cookie list, where implemented via a cookie consent tool, is available on the Site's cookie banner/settings panel.
7. Sharing and Disclosure of Information
We do not sell personal information. We may share personal information with:
- Service providers who support our operations, such as hosting and cloud infrastructure providers (e.g. Google Cloud/Firebase), email and newsletter platforms, analytics providers, and AI service providers used to power tools such as the Strategy Generator, each under obligations to protect your information and use it only for the purposes we specify;
- Professional advisors (legal, accounting, compliance) where reasonably necessary;
- Law enforcement, regulators, or courts where required by law, or to protect IGH's rights, property, or safety, or that of others;
- A successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of business assets, subject to that entity being bound by materially equivalent privacy protections.
8. Cross-Border Transfer of Information
Some of our service providers (including cloud hosting and AI infrastructure providers) may process personal information on servers located outside South Africa. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient is subject to a law, binding corporate rules, or contractual terms that provide an adequate level of protection substantially similar to POPIA's conditions for lawful processing, in accordance with section 72 of POPIA.
9. Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this Policy, to comply with our legal, accounting, and tax obligations (generally a minimum of five years for financial records under South African law), or to resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. Contact form and newsletter data not converted into a client relationship is retained for no longer than reasonably necessary, and deleted or anonymised thereafter.
10. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, unauthorised access, alteration, or disclosure, including encryption in transit, access controls, and secure hosting infrastructure. No system is completely secure, and while we take security seriously, we cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted to us over the internet.
11. Your Rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to: request access to the personal information we hold about you; request correction or updating of inaccurate or outdated information; request deletion of your personal information, subject to our legal retention obligations; object to processing of your information for direct marketing at any time, free of charge; withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal; and lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) if you believe your rights under POPIA have been infringed.

If you are located in the European Union or United Kingdom, you additionally have rights under the GDPR to data portability and to restrict processing, and may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

12. AI Strategy Generator Tool
Information you enter into the Industrial Growth Strategy Generator (company size, business details, industry) is used to generate an automated output via a third-party AI service provider, and may be temporarily processed by that provider in accordance with its own data handling practices. Do not enter sensitive, confidential, or third-party personal information into this tool. Outputs are AI-generated and provided for general informational purposes only, as further described in our Terms of Service.
13. Children's Privacy
The Site and our Services are directed at businesses and professionals and are not intended for, nor knowingly directed at, children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
14. Third-Party Links
The Site may contain links to third-party websites, including client and partner websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of third-party sites, and encourage you to review their privacy policies independently.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. The updated version will be posted on the Site with a revised effective date. Material changes will, where appropriate, be communicated more prominently.
